TGA, a complicated, possibly lethal disease, can be turned into a manageable disease.

Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA) is a severe congenital condition in which the body's largest arteries are incorrectly attached to the chambers of the heart. Learn how pediatric experts from the Fetal Heart Program and Cardiac Center at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia identify TGA during pregnancy, support the baby's delivery, and provide cardiac surgery and comprehensive care after birth.
I was born in late 85, and had TGA in 86. Went to CHOP a few years ago to have a small hole/leak in my aortic valve repaired. I've been doing great ever since. It's nice to know there is a community out there. Awesome video's.

My son has had the switch operation done in Germany in 2003 and he is doing great - so if any you are about to go through this ordeal - keep you cool, it will be just fine.

Our daughter was born on May 7th, 2008 with TGA. She seemed fine right after birth, but soon after it became clear she had a serious problem. They operated her on her 10th day, a day I will never ever forget. Seeing her afterwards with all those tubes and monitors, a moment that will stay engraved. We will soon celebrate her 2nd birthday: she is a very lively and happy little girl with a very strong character. I deeply thank the medical staff who took care of her for saving our daughters life.
