I used to have a Rhode Island Red rooster named James Brown. I also had a black and white Brahma rooster named Elvis for his short comb that would hang to one side.

I have a silkie rooster named King George :)

@Aerodil if you can get fertile eggs, when one of your girls are clucky, easiest way you can then all you have to do when they are old enough 6wks on usually, choose which of the cockrels you get from the clutch has the best temperament (the friendler the most likely to get aggressive when they are mature). Good Luck

aww he is gorgeous, I use to have a boy just like this named Raymond, he was the most docile rooster Ive ever come across or owned such a lamb, never attacked or got remotely aggressive with anyone or anything. He was such a fabulous father.

I just wish my RI red was so docile. I HAD to put him down because he attacked my wife and grandbabies.
The last straw was when he attacked me.
RIP Inspector!, the hens don't miss ya!

Where are some good places to get roosters? I go to our local IFA, and they only have Pullets. Do you know a good place to get a rooster?

I got a bunch of chickens (About 20) and 7 are roosters, only one of them is hostile, oddly enough he's the one that is afraid of the other 6, but he attacks any other thing that steps by (He even attacked a fox that came in the yard once).
I have a Polish rooster named Elvis, it's hairdo. I have a lt. Brahma, named Scratch, of course, George is the Rhode Island red and then we adopted two cuter, than heck bantam roosters, the smaller one really belts and the larger one crows but when he breathes back in it sounds like he has asthma. I have quite the crew of ducks, chickens, turkeys and a couple of geese. barnyards and backyards is a good site and Hobby Farms
