Tyler, Our Pet Chicken

A short video clip for Sheila so she will know how the chicken is doing, and for the world so they can see what a friendly chicken she is! We have several chickens in the past, all as pets, but none ever as friendly as this one. She is so spoiled and friendly. She sleeps on top of the grill right outside out kitchen window, and can always be found perched on the windowsill looking in as we eat at the table. She loves attention, bugs, and tomato sandwiches. She spends most of his free time roaming our yard in search of snacks, chasing the neighbor's stray cats, and long walks on the beach at night. We love our pet chicken.

A: Hens are female, and Roosters are male, but they are both Chickens. Think Doe and Buck as pertaining to Deer, but in the poultry world.

Edit: What I thought was Tyler crowing turned out to be a neighbor's rooster, as Tyler is a hen x_X.

@kouxiongpeterhawj Nope. She's a girl :-) She's been laying recently, but she doesn't seem in the mood to sit on the eggs through the night and none have hatched.

@johnredhd Yep :-) When this was shot, we were still under the impression that it was a rooster. Now we are aware that 'she' is not. The video refers to her as a he, but it's because I didn't know any better at the time :-) I'll have to post a video of Tyler and our newer rooster, Max.

@KiitCat There is no such thing as Maran. It's Marans, both singular and plural(French).They are nearly the same colour. You will know for sure when she starts laying. Marans eggs are supposed to be dark brown.

The difference is that males are more color full, don't lay eggs, and crow ALOTZ! I know cause I own some chickens. You can see my chicken videos on here.
