I love his playing, he's an amazing and very technical drummer, the only thing that freaks me out is how he holds his sticks.

He is just amazing with his limbs. The best pedal is the Pearl Demon Drive which I know he will be playing shortly.

Now, I want to first say that I like Steve Bolognese, but at the same time, after having studied for a while myself concerning the economy of motion for the conservation of energy in private lessons and experimenting a bit myself, I'm watching this video again (because I like the band and what they do), and I notice that when the camera changes to a close up on his feet he doesn't seem to use much economy of motion when the pedals are at rest... Proficiency aside, isn't that not good technique?

Also I never said I was any better than him, I've drummed for about 2 years, and that's enough to understand the first basic thing you learn about how to hold a drum stick properly for rock and metal :P So let people have their own opinion, or maybe you should continue being an asshole and be one of those who thinks they are right all the time :P

I don't care how much you supporters admire him and the way he holds his sticks, it's just wrong :P This guy is either self taught, didn't listen to his drumming teacher, or his drumming teacher didn't know how to hold the sticks either :P But to tend the dissing wounds a bit, I think he's pretty good, obviously got some inspiration from Dream Theater and those big progressive dudes as well as the band seems pretty inspired by Death and Iron Maiden and stuff...
