Palestinian refugees find new life in Chile - 17 Apr 08

A group of Palestinian refugees, the first of 117, has arrived in Chile after being granted asylum.

Al Jazeera's Lucia Newman travelled to La Calera to see how they are settling into a new life thousands of kilometres from Iraq - the country where they were born, and from where they were forced to flee.

Israel estimated nuclear missiles arsenal 200 the same Nuclear arsenal in UK & France is less than 200.

(Christians, Muslims, jews) lived in Palestine peacefully side by side till Israel came into existence.

@GustavoCLa Christians were never expelled from Israel. They formed the 80% in Bethlem, where Jesus was born, turned in hands of palestinian authority, now it remains only a 5%. They were harassed, expelled by their lovely muslims "friends". Meanwhile christians living in ISRAEL proves christians were not expelled. In fact Israel never expelled those arabs. They left Israel by their own foot.

@lisheva1 The Brazilian who killed 13 children in his former school had no muslim backgroud. He was rased as a Jehovah's Witness. Later in life, as a loner and deeply traumatized person (by bulling) he began his interest in islamism, identifying it as a religion of opressed people. He never went to a formal process of conversion, never went to a mosque or got in contact with muslims. And it's not known if he indeed became a muslim "in his heart" or if he just had an interest.

@diamondcalves Maybe you have a point. But what would you do if you and your family were in the same situation stranded in no man's land for 2 years fleeing the violence. Would you really say 'No thanks' if a foreign country was willing to help you and your family by providing shelter.food. We all complain about immigrants but think if you were born in a poor deprived country and you heard of greener pastures in a far away land. I would emigrate too!
