  • The Militant is too young to have ridden on Angels Flight 1.0 but he's glad Sinai and Olivet are still going up and down Bunker Hill today!

  • Wow, the memories! My gramma and grampa lived in a Victorian house near 4th and Alvarado across from the Yellow Cab Company. They took me on Angels Flight many times. As an adult, I vowed to keep the Old House in good condition but were forced to sell it to make room for the new school in 1989. Homeless set fire to the place and it was bulldozed.

  • Great shots of Angels Flight and its neighborhood of vertiginous houses, taken I believe from Ed Penney's late 1960s footage. There are plenty of stills from movies shot on and around Angels Flight at ElectricEarl.c o m/af. Sorry to say the great old neighborhood is long gone, but at least the funicular carries on a half block south of its original location.

  • sometime after Angels Flight opened, the 1887 Rose McCoy house was moved 50ft up west from its original location to make way for the brick Sanitarium and vegetarian restaurant. The 1905 Sunshine Apts behind it across Clay St. was a favorite for movie clips have been torn down as well the Hillcrest Apts behind that in the video. Hillcrest Apts was built by Eddy in 1908, the same person who built Angels Flight. Clay St was located below the car's passing point. South of it was the Ferguson Bldg.

  • the old Rose McCoy house is clearly shown across 3rd St. Thanks for the memories.

  • that's the wooden McCoy house at the beginning
