In this first video-blog of Jack Whitehead from the senior common room of the University of Bath of the 2nd February 2008, I outline what motivated me to come to the University of Bath in 1973 to contribute to the reconstruction of educational theory. I explain my original idea of living educational theories as the explanations given by individuals to explain their educational influences in their own learning, in the learning of others and in the sociocultural formations in which we live and work

Delighted you've started -now I want to know more!!!!

Yet by simply recalling her brief story/experience, I had completely flipped the angle from which I viewed not only my project, but other obstacles too, and wondered how I had slipped back into this limited way of thinking. What is more scary that this seems to be a norm for many people rather than an exception, including myself...its still something im working on.

It was interesting that a friend of mine said that to help her come up with new project ideas her supervisor instructed her to write down anything, as many ideas as possible, no matter how daft or fundamentally wrong they may be, for her project. However, with my project I had almost in a subconcious rut developed a train of thought which meant i would think for new ideas based on existing questions and limitations on what was achievable in the lab.
