More than 2,000 people protesting California's new ban on gay marriage marched through streets Thursday, snarling rush-hour traffic as hundreds of police officers sought to contain them. The AP's John Mone was there. (Nov. 6)

  • @blackworldonline cont.. most people in it have no cultural identity, solid cultural values and mores. in a culture with a solid traditions and values, people can't come up and change something as it's known, it only happen when there's isolation and assimilation of cultures. In conclusion, gay people can get married and do whatever they want because this is an evolving society, it's creating its value and morals. it's stll in a process of development.

  • @blackworldonline the definition of marriage has changed and its purpose too. the purpose of two people coming together as partners originally was to create a family and to grow the strength of a hamlet. when they have children, it means more people who would man the farm. i still believe that the purpose of marriage is procreation and family, but the western world has changed all these. lack of settlement and in forming a longer community is responsible for this. america is a melting pot....

  • @blackworldonline cont.. on a neutral ground. what about 4 people who love themselves, why can't they get married? what about a 12 year old girl who loves a 16 year old boy, why can't they get married? if everyone need to go back to the drawing board, all these things need to be put into consideration. if the purpose of marriage isn't ascertained, it shouldn't get a lot of publicity. marriage is an old tradition of man, if it's to be changed now, then it's up to the same man who created it.

  • cultural values are set by the people, not religion, not politics, not even God. cultural values are formed out of consensus, what has to be considered is the benefit of the value to the community. the only reason why marriage should become politicized is money. married people get exclusive benefits, but if the society doesn't recognize your union, it's what it is. if the premise is: two people who love themselves, isn't that another rule? if such a rule should be set, why not have a consensus..

  • brigantly ummmmmmm, its my right to be retarded, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

  • @Ithinkalone dude you're a retard...hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • @gclure lol..

  • Straight marriage is SOOOOOO sucessfull.

  • In my honest opinion this shouldn't be a government issue. If the christians don't like gay marriage then don't allow them in your church. Stay out of government and they will stay out of your church. What part of separation of church and state do they not understand. Only in the US does this even make the news. Its things like this that have the rest of the world laughing at us.

  • i think its funny when the churches are on the other side of the picket lines they ask for respect and tolerance ... yet when they are picketing they use slurs and anything they can , they are hateful they scream and get into verbal fights with passer bys ... yet when we picket you dont see signs like god hates fags you dont see signs like you are going to hell you dont see signs like you reap what you sew ... its just funny to me how the tables turn when the minority pickets the majority .
