i saw them on numerous occasions with Paul chapman on guitar, considering the boots he had to fill i think he did a great job, that BC Rich sounded pretty sweet, i hope he doing ok, i thought he had a very melodic streak in his playing style, just like Michael, so glad to have seen a few of the greats from the 80's

@cowboysfan782008 Well Rock Lobster is a funny song, I appreciate humor in music, just look at Zappa who made a career of it but was taken very seriously for his chops. UFO present humor on stage because Phil is a light hearted guy who just REALLY enjoys what he does. In the mid 80s as the band was in flux, I recall reading that Phil Mogg would be at a bar getting drunk, but also not content to put the band to rest. Initially, that was some scary news, after Making Contact

@MetallicBill I hear what your saying, I just hated seeing my favorite music go, right at the time I was coming of age. It's funny, the 1st time I heard the B-52's "rock lobster", I was at a roller rink, and I thought it was some kind of joke. I was wrong, it was the beginning of new wave. I was at that same ring the 1st time a heard "to the hip hop, don't stop" etc, which was I believe the 1st rap song. That came out before Blondies "rapture".

@cowboysfan782008 I happen to like RATT, not a big Poison fan, but Flock of Seagulls was good, The Fixx had a few good songs, as did the Cars. There's worse music then all that... these days for sure!

@cowboysfan782008 Phil Mogg probably punched him when he told him not to. I know people like that who call your bluff, in a sense.

@cowboysfan782008 Classic Rock and Hard Rock, I have to agree about the important eras of music...modern or Classic as far as R n R

When you look at back at the years 1966-1980, it is truly amazing how much great rocknroll was produced. And that is STILL the era that is played by rock stations today 30-44 years later.

@MetallicBill Yeah, I was in HS 1982-1986, and we just needed something a little better to combat the New Wave craze. As a kid in the 70's I watched on the sidelines as the older kid's rocked to Nugent, Zep and Aerosmith, and then when I finally came of age it was the gay flock of seaguls, duran duran and such running the rooste, while rat sang round and round. My bro's and I would go to see zep at the midnight movies, and after watching Jimmy, the likes of rat or quiet riot didnt quite compare
maybe 82?
