If the Leafs weren't relevant, they wouldn't have the largest fan base in the NHL, wouldn't sell out every night for decades, wouldn't sell more merchandise than any other team and wouldn't be worth more money than any other team. If Detroit had performed as badly as the Leafs had for so long, their fans would have deserted them long ago (then jumped on the bandwagon when they got good again). Yep, you really know hockey, lol.
