Sharpton said this before Imus' comment...2 da real racists!

I have seen videos and read several comments of people labelling Al Sharpton a racist because he supposedly doesn't address the rappers who degrade African people as well. This shows just how ignorant these closet racists are, because Sharpton has been speaking out for years against rappers...you just haven't been listening because most people who buy hip-hop are Euro-Americans and don't really care about the destructive messages directed at the African community.

Well, this is one of many videos of him denouncing rappers. This is video from the State of the Black Union 2007 about 2 months before the Imus incident.

While i understand there's a need to change hip-hop, i don't think what imus did was right when he said "hip-hop made me do it." and before that, "metal made me do it." and before THAT, "jimi made me do it." and BEFORE THAT, "jazz made me do it." What i mean is, people are always scapegoating music when in reality, it's the people that make the music. The music is product of our environment and unless we change our environment we'll never change our music.
