Where do you put the preset after you download it in order to get it into After Effects?

this is a good tut. but its doesnt create a real 3d text that you can rotate around. when you bring in the precomp it becomes a flat image. only in custom view can you see the extruding. its good to get that 3d frontally view only.

@B4Beltran Wrong, continue rasterizing button. Or make a camera in the extrusion comp. AE isn't a 3D program, it's the best we can do.

@PPotProductions Then go try to make real 3D in a 2D program. We may have 3d layers but After Effects isn't a 3d modelling program. You want true 3D, get 3DS max

You should do a tut on how you have your work space set out, I found the vid hard. As I had to pause, cause most of my stuff was not set up the way you have it. So prehaps, tell us how that is set up would help. :)

@XVSProductions I had the same problem, and I was going to give up on the 3D text until I saw this comment. Thanks again XVS, continue rasterizing works perfectly :D For all those who haven't heard about it, it's a relatively new feature, just in the timeline of your main composition find the 3D text composition, and check the box in the column that looks like a little sun. Or just look up "continuously rasterize in after effects".
