A great show, but always felt it didn't go into great depth regarding the 20th century

@AnnenbergLearner I just discovered your response. Thanks! Yes, I was looking for the composer(s) of the background music. It's hard to say which episode since the same pieces are used across the series.
Here are some examples:
-Fall of Byzantium-Opening sequence (prior to opening credits)
-Common Life in the Middle Ages ~4:10~6:15
-The Roman Empire ~15:00~17:15
-The National Monarchies ~8:45~9:45
I suspect they're from the same composer. Much Appreciated!

This guy was great in Blazing Saddles and on the Carol Burnett Show.

This show should just be played for high school students. It's so impressive that it has yet to be outdone. It's also disappointing. Thank you so much for making this available. PBS seems to have completely stopped playing it.

This is a Nice Cartoon.

I love this show! Eugen Weber is so eloquently cynical and the minimal production really compliments his commentary rather than distracting and even overwhelming the viewer like a lot of over-hyped crap on the 'educational' cable channels. Does anyone know who scored the series? He/she isn't listen in the credits.

I have watched the entire series three times.i see something new every time.
Thanks for all your comments! @leonardpaulson The theme music was composed by Gene Mackles. If you are looking for the composer of background music from a particular video, let me know the video and the time it occurs in that video and I will see if I can look it up for you.
