I don't usually do stupid test videos like these, because I think they're a waste of time (You can easily incorporate any 'test' ideas into a proper production), but I just wanted to upload a few clips from my new camera. I've tried to show the before and afters of the footage captured, and the post-processed footage also.
This was filmed at about 7pm last night, so it was quite dark and gloomy, but the post-processing made the footage look a bit summery, which is good. I am very impressed with this camera, and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for Z1-quality footage on a budget. Sony certainly have their act together in the HDV department.
This is a really quickly thrown together piece, so a lot of things could be ironed out in a proper production. I didn't have a tripod on me, for example. The bit at the end with the small circle is from me closing the lens cover. For some reason the cover doesn't close completely and leaves a little gap in the very centre (maybe this is a fault with my model; its ex-demo after all). I quite like it though and I think it could be used for some interesting footage on the fly.

  • Sony HVR-A1E collest in 1080 or 720? I dont know( tell me plez

  • @Oleg3run it shoots very good 720p, and decent 1080. It's up to you and whether you'd prefer to have a higher quality video at a lower resolution, or a higher resolution video at possibly less quality. In most cases, unless you're shooting for cinema or TV, you'll end up putting on the net where most people will probably only watch it in a small box in the middle of their screen. Or be watching it at full screen at a resolution lower than 1080 anyway.

  • canon hv 40 rulez!

  • @kociolczp Probably does, but I don't have one :)
