No problem! =) Have you seen all three of the Dr. Mabuse films? (I'm hoping to get "The 1,000 Eyes of Dr. Mabuse" for x-mas.) Are there any other Fritz Lang films that you particularly like?

I've seen "Der Spieler" and most of "Testament", but none of "1,000 Eyes".

And Lang's probably my favorite film director! Though it's cliche, I'd say "Metropolis" and "M" are my two favorites of his films, though I've liked the other ones I've been able to see. Other than Mabuse, what are your favorites?

"M", "Metropolis", "Spies"... I'd say really any of his early work. The atmosphere is superb, the plots are amazing, and so many of the films are like little windows into Berlin during the 1920's and 30's. It's the visual equivalent of eating a really good steak, lol.

I have seen some shots from this film before as they are used in documentaries about the Weimar Republic but it was wonderful to see the whole thing. It was especially poignant to see the children - what horrors awaited them in the 1940s.

Oh! If only Germany had declined to intervene on behalf of the Australo-Hungarian Empire at the start of WW1 but instead consulted with Great Britain and demanded JUSTICE for the assasination of Archduke Ferdinand at the same time insisted that international relations remained peaceful. The auld cosmopolitan Berlin would still be with us today, along with six million jews, nine million other Holocaust victims, countless war dead and all their descendants...

"Spies" was great and "Frau im Mond" was excellent, but mostly on a technical scale. I agree about the atmosphere of his early films and say they're better overall, but a couple suffer from cases of "von-Harbou-itis" in the plot department. Still, they're superior to most contemporary (if not modern!) films.
