Pig slaughter in Karak, Jordan

A senior official reported that around 500 pigs in two farms located in Karak city in Jordan are to be slaughtered within a period of two weeks. The decision is explained in that the two farms have ignored health and environmental regulations, and have been doing that since 2005. The farmers were given a deadline to abide by health and environmental regulations. The deadline was March, 2009, but no action was taken. The farms are obviously posing a danger to health and environment, and maybe part of the action being taken now has to do with the recent spread of flu in Jordan, but 500 pigs have to pay the price of the farmers stalling and authorities extended deadlines!!!

@DJsonnyANTWERPEN well, in my opinion pigs are nasty creatures. and pigs are omnivores, so if they eat there own poop they are digesting something already fully digested, on the other hand cows are herbovores and only eat grass it is very rare to see them eat meat and because of that their poop is actually not bad for them but pigs ew! im just saying, pigs are nasty animals...!

@darwicheboss no, they are wery tasty to eat.i cant imagine christmass day without nice piece of pork on table.. and i learn people belive what they want.if you belive in someting what some "religion" guy tels you then your mind is limited...and ps- horses allso eat sometimes ther own poop,and scheep have wery nasty fly who eat her flesh alive onder the woll, cow have problem with egs and larves who are in grass which one they are eating..so you can turn it way you want..cheers guy !
