I love it when Gutsu threw full difficulty. She was ahead of her time.

Russia obviously didn't have much money to host big events back then. Probably doesn't today, either. Not like the U.S., where the Nationals look like a Wrestlemania. But maybe the poverty is what made their gymnasts strong, and the prosperity (which is ending even as I write) is what made so many of our gymnasts fat and lazy. Maybe when America is on the same economic par as Russia we'll have better gymnasts to watch. Love Tatiana!

@luv4cookie1 Yeah, looks like she's dancing to the music in her head. Always made me wonder if Gutsu was indeed younger than what was indicated, as her performance and interpretive abilities always seemed very immature.

@mulliganbrian i know they spend 4 of their like 9 hours practice sessions on dance and she still sucks ass!

Amazing tumbling but she most have skipped her dance classes. Surprised no Sovirt coach ever informed her of music interpretation or artistry.

She did these tumbles at the 1991 Worlds Team optionals also, but WOW she can tumble!
