  • Yeah, the kit sounds really nice

  • A whole bunch of things make that kit sound so good, my guess is that those factors are:

    - it's a great kit

    - good mics and it is close-mic'd (the microphones are touching the toms etc.)

    - the mix of the recording was done well (eliminated distorting overtones etc.)

    The short answer is I don't think anyone can get their kit to sound that good "at home" unless they live in abbey road.
