His best rendition ever and the only time he trilled in the aria. I wish the recording had less echo but for 1939 the quality is good. This was great singing!

Bjoerling's singing was way ahead of his time: clean attacks, perfect intonation, perfect placement, perfect and tasteful use of portamento, etc etc etc. This is, I think, the finest testament we have of his singing.
