Many people wonder how to substitute a yarn of slightly different weight into a pattern. Here, I explain how to figure out how many stitches to cast on when changing the gauge of a project.

Note: Not all yarns will work with your project. If you try to use a vastly different weight of yarn, you will end up with a vastly different-looking project.
