Bush mechanic, Arnhem Land style!

This is Ganalbingu elder and artist Jimmy Djelminy (deceased) effecting repair to a punctured radiator, bush mechanic style!

Resin from the bark of the Mapurdumun (Terminalia sp.) tree was used, the resin setting to cement hardness within minutes and enabling us to get back home to Ramingining before nightfall.

Whilst waiting for the resin to harden, we enjoyed some fresh meat... kangaroo I think it was if I can remember correctly. If blood turns you off, don't look!

My mates don't seem to have any trouble getting a job. Lets turn this racist attitude around for a moment, why is it if someone is 1/8th aboriginal 7/8 Caucasian they're classed as "aboriginal"(or any part aboriginal if you want to class yourself as one). Why not say part aboriginal and part caucasian. To me that states you're racist against whites, thats why you refuse to accept white herritage. If you think your race is better than whites, how can you expect whites to not be racist back ?.
