On Tuesday 16 March 2010 (29 Rabi-ul Awwal 1431 AH) many people from York, Batley and Manchester (UK) visited Sutton Bank (Yorkshire, 1000 ft above sea level) to sight the youngest crescent moon (Hilal) of Rabi-ul Thani after sunset. This video will describe the moon sighting efforts made as per Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). The group of 22 observers comprised of 5 people form Manchester (including Maulana Samiruddin Qasmi), 4 people from Batley (including Maulana Hasib Mayet) and 7 people from York (including Shaykh Zubair Ahamad). There were 6 members of York Astronomical Society (including Martin Whipp, who is not in the video). The original video has been trimmed to fit the Youtube 10 mins limit.
