I bought one from Energizer a few years back, ended up throwing it away cause it would make the batteries get hot making it quite uncomfortable to wear.. however I am glad that it will accomidate my large ass head. :P

I had the old version of this from 7 years ago. It lasted until last year due to my son folding it into 2 parts. Good product.

Headlamps make me happy.

I have good experience with the Energizers at work where I wear one on a hardhat on my large ass head. They can get wet, greasy, dusty and still work fine and are very easy on batteries. As far as the lumens go, it's bright enough to see what's in front of you just fine.

Good purchase for your kit. I used to think the same thing "that guy looks like a dork" but after using one when I was working under a sink doing plumbing and needing both hands, it came in really handy! I don't care what anyone else thinks anyway.... I carry a gun!  ;-)
