This is a quick overview of the highlights of Phaedra, the "analog" style four-channel MIDI sequencer for iPads, coming soon from NaughtyPanther.
In this video, Phaedra is driving a DSI TETR4, a Doepfer modular synth, a Korg Monotribe, and an Eventide Space and TimeWorks. No DAW is used in the sequencing. Everything is being clocked from Phaedra.

Firstly, all your vids rock!
Do you know if Phaedra will take clock from an ipad app(Funk Box) and continue to send midi out in the background?

This looks like it's going to be a category killer for the ipad! Looking forward to getting this asap. Please make it expensive as hell so only us cool kids can buy it!

@motorhead9999 The iPad is in an iO Dock. I just covered up the Alesis logo with tape, because I can't stand looking at it all day, and I'm not interested in advertising their shit for them.

Could you explain how you can get multiple midi outputs using the camera connection kit? Thanks!
aleszylder3 2 months ago
@aleszylder3 You can't. MIDI interfaces via the CCK can only have one in and one out.
Cranda11 2 months ago
@Cranda11 But aren't you sending to modular and tetra in the video?
aleszylder3 2 months ago
@aleszylder3 MIDI devices can be daisy-chained. Most have an in and an out. In the video, the output of the iO Dock is going to the input of the TETR4, then from the TETR4 to the Eventide TimeFactor, and from there to the modular. (The modular is last because it doesn't have a MIDI out or thru.)

very nice tunes ! do i need a alesis dock for it to work ? i am using a camera connection kit with usb-midi interface. not sure how to connect more than one device to it ?
bodobear 3 months ago
@bodobear It works fine with a Camera Connection Kit and USB MIDI Interface. I will probably not be including Line 6 Midi Mobilizer functionality in the first release, but it should work with every other MIDI context the iPad is capable of. So Network Session, virtual MIDI (see one of the other videos where I'm driving NLog Synth Pro on the same iPad), and any CoreMidi-compliant USB devices.
