Hey! Hey you! Add my DEATH METAL band, Eye Of Providence. PLEASE?! Just go to myspace.com/eopmd
It wont take more than a few seconds.

Nothing should cause damage/pain to your throat.

Inhales do not and should not hurt, contrary to what most people think. Most people push too hard. If you look on a laryngoscope you will see the vocal chords for singing exhaled and inhaled do almost the same thing. Air is just going a different way.

When screaming, the vocal cords actually dont vibrate to cause the noise or "slap together violently" but they stand still and have air forced through them. In fry, the vocal cords are close together and almost touching, which is probably why it requires less air to make the noise. The regular lows and highs all have your vocal cords do the same thing, just more open. Them being more open seems to be the reason why more air is required. These screams are all done by having a force of air pass though the blockage your vocal cords create. This is a reason why it is important not to push too much air. How do I know this? Not by bullshitting you like every other video, but by watching laryngoscopies. Look them up on youtube.

These are alot of techniques I use to not hurt my throat.
RELAX, don't force (HUGE CONCEPT!)
PUSH AIR FROM STOMACH
NEVER TIGHTEN/CLENCH THROAT
USE OVER THE PENCIL TECHNIQUE FOR EVERYTHING. In the video I said you dont use it for fry, but technically you do, I just never had to think about it because i never did it "below the pencil." Basically you should NOT feel it burning your middle throat but instead buzzing the roof of your mouth somewhat.

  • just drink water, you will be fine.

whenever you talk your throat vocal chords are moving, what makes you think any different when you scream?

    ridiculous.

  • @RawrInYawrHeart

Because people do it too hard force it. New people don't realize that screaming is just altering your voice NOT actually screaming at the top of your longs.

  • @UntamedWalrus sorry for all of the typos haha. *lungs

  • @theharvester97 To not tear up your throat, you just need to relax it. Try to familiarize yourself with your throat and learn how to manipulate it and whatnot; doing this will help you a lot with control and not damaging yourself. Im not sure what you could exactly do to familiarize yourself though, since Im just naturally familiar with my throat and manipulating it, but just figure out ways to do that and it'll help. I didn't understand your question though...

  • @TheDaccaDez If you're willing to learn and practice, you can.

  • @ashishaya Yet you wasted time commenting lol
