The first of many electric guitar lessons. This is VERY basic; it's made for those who need to know the very basics of playing electric guitar. The next lessons though will be far more in depth and will cover a vast array of techniques and styles of music.

Thanks again for watching!

  • do u have to have peddles?

  • no, they just make it sound better

  • is that guitar good for the price?

  • It's pretty good. I've only had one problem with the bridge, but that's because I changed the string gauge and messed with the bridge action and springs when I didn't know what I was doing. Otherwise, no problems. I recommend it.

  • @psylord777 Wow you responded to an ancient post XD.

But aside from jokes, yes, pedals are effects to customize your sound. The best distortion, however, is still a good tube amplifier, at least to me. No need for a Mesa Rectifier or a Randall RM100, a simple Blackstar HT-5 or HT-1 is a great practice amp with tubes.

I remember this video was very helpful to me back in 07 when I started guitar. I only wish a third lesson actually came out.

  • @cooldude9151 peddles are just special effects and distortions you can add to the sound. A normal connection would be your guitar directly to the amplifier.

  • does anyone think this guy reminds you of GINGERS HAVE SOULS! :O

  • nice guitar... mine looks like the one from linkin park and i got it for $34.99 with an amp XD

  • Iron Man, He played that didnt even mention it XD

  • yeah, you hold the strings on the neck and then strum by the pickups. the neck should point to the left if you're right handed. you hold the strings with your left hand, and then strum with your right if you're right handed.

  • I've never picked up a guitar today, ive always wanted to play and bought a cheap starter pack (ish.. guitar\strings\picks\mini amp). I have no clue what im doing, do I hold down the strings on the neck and then strum by the pickups? i have no idea how to even strum

  • You know, I have the same cable that's plugged in from Boss MT-2 to your guitar.

  • my friend (spaldingsuperstar) is gonna sell his guitar (not the blue one) and a mini amp to me for £100 apparently this is a good deal and this is one of the things pushing me to buy.

    lol at the castration joke

    soon i will play toxicity!
