Food safety travesty passes because we need more corporate dominance in our lives. Arlen Specter is leaving and what is his legacy? CRAP. The "Don't murder miners for profit" bill can't pass but they can "compromise" on tax cuts for the rich. The 9/11 first responders healthcare bill MAY pass now but it is a testament to the broken system that it was not passed thwe first time because the demopublicans enacted a procedure that required a 2/3 majority. Politics makes me sick. And I am sick and tired of hearing about how the unions are the problem. They are not. If there were more unions and they actually had the power people seem to think they have then wages would not have remained flat for decades while the rich got richer and executive pay soared. Specter says the Senate is not what it once was and he is right. There used to be someone from time to time that would stand up for the people occasionally, those days are long over. Finally; to hell with Christmas. And some food for thought vis a vis religion. What has your God done for you lately? What God provides everyday whether you pray to it or not? The Sun. So maybe you can take a moment to celebrate the rebirth of the Sun. Just food for thought, not meant as an endorsement or attack on any religion.

Coporations have gotten wealthier because we have turned into a consumer economyfrom an industrial and manufacturing economy. For that we can thank the insidious influences for getting the trade treaties ratified, effectively killing our jobs by allowing companies to produce or buys overseas for cheap and unfettered importation back into the USA, into our buying groups and stores for our consumption. The low prices we pay for them mask our poverty, but thats changing as the prices rise slowly.
