There are eight verses in this ghazal but Hina Nasrullah sings only four. Here is the English translation of these four verses.

Verse 1. "Daaem" means permanent.

I am sad because my stay at your door is not permanent. I come, show my love and respect and go away. It is my greatest wish that I were a piece of stone permanently installed on your door steps. This way I would be always near you and that is the purpose of life.

Verse 2. I am sick of the adverse circumstances in my life. It is human nature that if someone always suffers from the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, he is extremely upset. The poet explains this fact with an example that I am a human being and not an inanimate object such as a wine glass that has no feelings.

Verse 3. It is a common practice that if a word or a letter is written twice by mistake, the second word is removed. Ghalib says why I suffer so much from the adverse circumstances as if I am not needed in this world. There should have been some purpose and usefulness of my creation in the scheme of things.

Great darling. Keep that coming. I just do not want to hear those creeps who tell us to be good Muslims. We have to be human being first before we can start dividing ourselves along the lines of religion, nationality, color, religion or what not (is that really necessary?).
