We compared the bootime and OpenOffice.org startup time in a MBP with the default Seagate Momentus (7200RPM, 320GB) vs. an Intel SSD X25M-G2 with 160 GB.

  • In both cases OpenOffice was started the first time directly after starting up OSX.

  • To be fair, how old was the OS in the HDD compared to the SSD? My current MBP with HDD boots up faster than your HDD. Just saying, because I'm currently in the market for an SSD.

  • hey good video. I know when I open Pages 09 the first time it takes significantly longer then if I open it, close it, and then open it again, without logging off. Would something similar be happening with this comparison? I'm guessing not, because they are two separate hard drives, but I was just wondering.
