My name is Philip Madden, I am the great grandson of Owney. I was born in New York state kingston i now live in Newcastle England with my grandmother (Jeanne Neild). She Met my grandfather Clarence Madden (son of owney) in the cotton club. If anyone has any information on other family it would be greatly appreciated

@TheBroadyk I cant beleive that a ranking member of the new york underworld actually came from yorkshire. Weve always had crime but never on the scale of american organised crime. Nicked cars, smuggled cigs and booze from germany holland and belgium, smuggled heroin and pills, home grown grass, fraud, and prostituition is all there is and nobody runs it its a complete joke. Its like a market for criminals, people come to yorkshire sell and clear off to leefs, manchester or london.
