I decided to make several changes in my ham radio shack console to make things more efficient and easy to use. Also to improve my TX and RX audio.
To see more about the Novex rack mount panels I am using:
http://www.novexcomm.com/
To find out more about the EQ Plus by W2IHY:
http://www.w2ihy.com/
I am not affiliated with these companies but they treated me very well.
To hear my live streaming scanner go here:

And for ham radio T-shirts and other apparel:

  • Can you recomend a budget starter system for someone starting out? I am wanting to get my license for emergency purposes and need tips on testing, begining equip, etc.

  • @eadams2006 You may want to start out with a simple 2 meter hand held radio if you have some local ham repeaters. You can find those for under 100 bucks new these days. HF is where the fun of talking long distance is, you might want to start out with a used HF radio that is maybe 10 or 15 yrs old unless you can afford a little more for a new basic one. Best thing would be to find some local hams to help you get going with what is in your area and also check out arrl.net website..

  • @eadams2006 sorry, that website is arrl.org, great place to find out about local clubs and ham radio etc..

  • Nice setup. Also how do you control Your pa system. I am thinking about installing one.

  • @KB1PTH I run line out signals from each receiver through a mixer, then to the PA amp. You could also just run signals right to the PA but I use external mixer since I have more signals than the PA has inputs. The PA has 70 volt line out, this line runs to 70 volt line transformers on each speaker in different rooms etc and there is a volume control on each speaker, this allows for several speakers without loading the 8 ohm output. The PA has a master volume.

  • @RadioHamGuy oh yes from what I've been exposed to as far as HAM Radio goes, I find it really interesting as to the number of ppl I hear from listening on the scanner,as well as a few really great contacts and friends made along the way from Extras to newbies to CB'ers occasionally, both in face to face and over the air. Yea I'm shocked some HAMS will use GMRS so yeah but hey it's all that ever expanding network of contacts & people that make it so much fun

  • @wawmjansens2 oh yea, it is all radio to me, I started in CB in the 70's and still use them also as well as other types of radios, it is all radio to me and magic how radio waves travel in the ether.

  • Very nice station indeed.......73 Dave M0OGY

  • Nice setup. I'm exiled to the outbuildings at the moment, but if I am ever fortunate enough to have a shack in the house, I would love for it to turn out as nicely as yours has! Nice work. 73.
