This is a video of the CMOS Mini-Synth I will be showing workshoppers how to make at Sound Summit 2011.
Sound Summit is a weekend festival that celebrates a wide range of innovative and independent music from Australia and beyond. It features talks, panels, lots of live shows and workshops, where the making of the mini-synth is one.
The mini-synth features a CMOS chip - an easy-to-find and cheap IC from most electronics suppliers. The mini-synth features dual square wave oscillators with a pulse LFO to modulate the blended output. The result is a droning, gating, harmonic bass synth that sounds a lot bigger than it looks.
The workshop is suited for beginners and will go through basic electronics and skills, hopefully with all attending leaving with a drone monster. For a higher quality audio clip, go to http://soundcloud.com/cubisteffects/cubisteffects-cmos-mini
