@sigmaman93 It's a British car but you can't deny, TATA are the best thing ever to happen to Jaguar. The old models were stuck in the past under Ford, but it took the Indian company for them to have enough daring to produce these contemporary models. Be thankful for their new owners.

@maltese85 - I think we'll have to wait and see before we can judge TATA properly. This new XJ was in late development before TATA took over, so whoever was going to buy Jaguar this model was always going to come out. It was released only a matter of a few months after TATA took over, so even if Ford had still been in charge it would have been released.
What I like though is that TATA have money for Jaguar development but nothing else to offer and so they'll let Jaguar people run Jaguar.

I don't see JCB as having enough cash to fund JAG and LR like Tata.. Tata is one of the world's biggest companies. All the companies they bought, grew... Tetly, Corus, Hispano, Daewoo etc.. But yeah I'm sure we have seen nothing from Jag yet..the best is yet to come. Hope they get the Bertone design
-
@maltese85 - JCB would have let Jaguar do their own thing and would have bankrolled this new XJ model at the very least, but, that's if JCB had won out over any other potential bidders. The other bidders who may have won I cannot be sure what they'd have done.
So long as TATA just interfere only with their money and let Jaguar get on with doing what they do best; then Jaguar are as good as independent and both Jaguar and TATA will benefit as a consequence. We should see some great Jags coming.

I agree with you in the part that Tata gave independence to JAG...that's why JAG is successful under Tata but was not under Ford. The management was different. I don't agree with you that the XJ would exist if Tata was not there. Tata funds them well and gave the company back to JAG as you said, there is no guarantee others would have done the same. At first I was shocked when Tata bought Jag, but now I think Tata is the best thing that happened to Jag.

@maltese85 cont..............
TATA didn't bring us this car but only Jaguar. This car would still have existed just as it is without TATA. TATA had no influence on its look and of course none on its engineering. Had it not been for TATA this car would still exist today just as it is but with JCB owning the Jaguar company and not TATA.
There were other big companies lining up to buy Jaguar other than TATA. So long as they don't interfere and keep giving Jaguar money; then that's fine by me.
-
@maltese85 - I don't care who owns Jaguar so long as the owners allow Jaguar to build their cars without interfereing, and TATA don't interfere, so that's ok by me. That should be the same for any car company who make great cars but lose independence. That's why Lamborghini no longer has the magic anymore because their owners think they know better than them, but with the likes of Skoda outside interference is good.

Tata had to with it... they OWN(not partly but fully) the Jag. it's theirs. Like it or Not if it wasn't for TATA, Jag would have gone bankrupt. Management is everything and Indians cannot be beaten when it comes to business. Well done to TATA for giving us this beauty
-
@kdyfiejfj - India had nothing to do with this Jag other than spend money on it, or get funds from the British goverment to spend money on it, I should say. It was designed and built in Britain with British money. And Jaguar more than competes with BMW and Mercedes. Jaguar were ahead of the game until about the '70's, but have always been more beautiful and always a lot, lot, lot better to drive than any of its rivals. It's now far more reliable than BMW and definetly more reliable than a Merc.
