Dueling Sabres At Dover (Part 2)

If you saw the video from Saturday, you know the weather was scuzzy. 24 hours later the storm system had moved off and we were left with blue skies. The two beautifully restored F-86 Sabres belonging to Captain Dale "Snort" Snodgrass and Ed Shipley flew a perfect demonstration. Again take note of how low they fly and how rock solid the formation is.

I heard a rumor that the Red White and Blue Saber crashed killing the pilot. I know that a few months ago that same F-86 came in on it's wing tanks when it's right main landing gear didn't extend.

Civilian pilots are generally better sticks than military guys. They fly a more diverse range of airplanes which have 1/30th the technical hardware modern fighters do and they do this in all weather, day and night. Military pilots are trained to do one thing. KILL!

I believe Ed Shipley had a hydralic failure during this show and had to land early..

Ed Shipley's a pretty good pilot to handle that without the military training that Snodgrass has. I wonder if the average civilian pilot could handle that with proper training?

Sabre 86 looks similar to the MIG 15.
