Uh not reallym, modern gun powder is called Cordite. It was a recipe based upon a french inventer called Paul Vieille, google it you;ll see. it was important becuase it was the first powder not to make any smoke and have more powerful acceleration. Please don't bullshit anyone, the only thing the arabs invented was algebra and they only invented it to build Mosques.

I love the fact that the first people in Mesopotamia (currently Iraq) were Assyrian (whom are Christians) yet these people have been facing prosecution today and arn't even recognized by the Iraqi government -- in fact, they've been forcefully assimilated and considered as Arabs ----- RECOGNIE THE ASSYRIAN PEOPLE ---- GIVE THEM THEIR LAND BACK ---IRAQ BELONGS TO THE ASSYRIAN PEOPLE AND NOT ARAB MUSLIMS (with all respect to arab muslims.)

Governments eventually realized they can duke it out over resources using strategies of mind control to obtain a relatively benign object: money which they can then use to kill and subjugate other humans.

It is this concept of governments (which is obviously still inherently 'evil' as it involves the squashing of innocents for others gain) which allowed us the ability to maintain a certain level of stability to reach our current level of technology.

Human nature is inherently violent. No government leading the people would quickly lead to mass chaos rather than the behind the scenes violence, economic subjugation and political games of mind and resource control the world's powers constantly wage against each other. Love, cooperation, respect etc. is indeed the key to world peace but the obstacle to world peace is not governments, it is human nature. Genetic engineering is the only real hope I believe this world has for a just society.
