Day 3 in the preliminary hearing in the people vs Johannes Mehserle, Jon Wooffinden tells the court he was scared, felt out numbered but the assistant D.A. questioned his depiction of the incident
@aye510 That's not even close to what happened. Grant was removed from the train for fighting. Grant assaulted officers. Officers had no reason to "explain" why they were being detained, they were well aware, since the train driver pointed them out to officers as the ones who were fighting. Officers do take a course on how to talk to people, and that course instructs them to show their dominance because it is an effective way to gain compliance from the suspect.
yeah well when you walk up and slam a guy into the wall and start cussing at him to take your orders the 100s of people watching and the guys are not going to put up with that shit you dont explain what they are being detained for just tell them to get the fuck on the ground maybe cops should have to take a class on how to talk to people and shit like this wont happen they always have to show their dominance fuckin pigs
Every time the police interact with anyone, it is a tense situation for the civilian. Maybe it wouldn't be so tense for the police if they didn't treat everyone like an animal. Maybe you're a good person...I doubt however that you would be this reasonable if you pulled me over on a dark road for a busted headlight. If you get bitten by every dog you've ever met, you'll believe that all dogs are biters. Too bad I have to hate you. Take it up with your boys.
I am not a bully and never have been. I am sorry that you "hate"me. I don't hate you. I am glad you can take care of yourself. There are a lot of people who can't who have been helped by the police. Believe it or not.
All that aside, the reality is that this was a tense situation. Cop haters will say it was nothing because there is a need to trivialize their jobs, call them cowards, etc. I get it. Not all cops are like that and stereotypes a seldom accurate, fair or productive.
You're "probably" better informed as to what cops should be doing? Well, I should hope so. It's your job! But then again, if you could do your job well (and cut it in the private sector), you wouldn't need to suck off the public teat. You talk to me of perspective. Somebody is starting to believe their own hype. Do you train your cops to be chicken-shit schoolgirls? Because it seems to me that most cops are cowards who want to play hero. Scared of the real bad guys so they pick on citizens.
Outnumbered and intense were my words. Your words were "An angry mob". 6 of one, half dozen of the other...
Wake up and smell the shit you're shoveling! Anyone who isn't related to a cop or a cop themselves, hates you assholes. I'm a 33-year-old white guy. Never been convicted of a crime. I hate the police. Why do you think that is? When people see the cops near them, they don't think "Oh, great. I'm safe now." They usually think "I better not give this bully on a power trip any excuse to..."
Outnumbered and intense? You said it. Why would they do anything other than set up a perimeter as they did around the same knuckle heads that they arrested that were with Grant?
Traitor pig? That's rich. Read a book once in a while. As an officer and trainer, I am probably better informed than you about what the cops should and should not do.
Nobody is saying it's not the cops fault. Get some perspective.
They were so outnumbered and it was so intense that they arrested....nobody. As far as how I'd handle it; I wouldn't shoot an unarmed kid in the back as he lay face down on the pavement. But I'm no professional bully. Maybe that's procedure. BTW, I'd love the chance to show those cops how brave I can be. Have a nice day, traitor pig.
Of course... loud voices and thrown cell phones deserve to be retaliated against with bullets... what is this the Gaza Strip?
