  • I thought 80 Days was made by DePatie-Freleng.

  • no it wasn't.

  • This was Hanna-Barbera like animation/music (done by Aussie Air Programs)? This was a film print and not a 1972-1973 NBC Umatic/reel to reel recording, I guess.

  • wrong.

  • I had this song in my mind for 20 years, I cannot believe I am listening to it again. Thanks

  • The actual lyrics:

"Around the world in 80 days, BEEP!!BEEP!! Passepartout!

So Fogg may marry Belinda Maze, BEEP!!BEEP!! Passepartout!"

"Fogg may fail because of Fix

    Unless Fogg nixes Fix's tricks

Around the world with BEEP!!BEEP!! Passepartout!"

"Around the world in 80 days

so Fogg may marry Belinda Maze --

Around the world with BEEP!!BEEP!! Passepartout! BEEP!!BEEP!!"

  • Visual Entertainment Inc (VEI) will be reissuing a 2 DVD set of this cartoon on Sept 27, 2011. 390 minutes in length, it should include all 16 episodes. Best Buy has it advertised for only $7!, but check (by time) it's not the Pierce Brosnan version.

Australian Air Programmes International originally produced the series. It was shown in the US on NBC between 1972-1973.

John Sanger's theme song is based on "Mademoiselle from Armentières" (aka 'Hinky Dinky Parlez Vous') -- /watch?v=bIcxA9miIgs

  • "Have you got a plan, Mr. Fix?"

"Have I got a plan? HAVE I GOT A PLAN??

    "I'LL FIX THAT FOGG!!!"

  • I remember this one! It took me a long time as a kid to figure out the words to the theme song. I didn't understand that the "Passepartout" parts were referring to the French character's name. Mr. Fix used to drive me nuts by talking to himself for like 5 minutes before he actually did anything. Worse than Dick Dastardly.

  • @CaptainGoofysstash "The motto of the wise is be prepared for surprises" ... i like that

  • Seems like it was popular all over the globe. In formes USSR for sure!!!!!:) Yeah I was 5 when I watched that.Love refinding it!

  • Any idea where I can get the whole thing?

  • Does anyone know where I could get a full version of this cartoon? I grew up in the USSR and loved the dubbed version, but would very much like to see the original :)

    Thanks!

  • I barely remember this cartoon & i also believe this cartoon was an Australian import.

  • Belinda Maze sure can handle a pogo-stick!
