In this review, I revisit Young's Double Chocoloate Stout. In my first review, I reviewed it in the can, so this time I reviewed it in the bottle. What more interesting is, For the first time ever, I found them in a 12 ounce bottle.

  • 20 youngs double chocolate stout/500ml(case) & flowers is my girlfriends valentines present tomorrow.

  • wow. nice gift.

  • I finally got to try the bottle version and I definitely liked it a lot more than the can. I didn't get much of a toasted almond flavor - perhaps a little.

To me, this tastes like a porter that happens to have a chocolate taste - it doesn't taste like a straight-up chocolate beer (which I suppose is the point).

I think this is just a plain good beer. I'd give it a B+ tops. It doesn't wow me the way some other beers have. I

  • @MARKKY2727 i have had it and use to love it, but i can't get it in the usa anymore, and i had it before i started doing reviews so i fear i may never get that chance...i also miss the winter warmer...

  • Geat review you must try Youngs London Special ale if you get a chance.

  • theres no doubt i like it in the can, and sometimes prefer the can over the bottle, but i find the bottle just a hair better. interesting how we split hairs, but both love it never the less.

  • I knew you liked this beer and it is neat that it comes in 12oz bottles though I haven't seen those in my beer store yet. I liked the can a little more than the bottle, mostly because of the xtra creaminess. Both are great beers and totally drinkable and delicious. Nice review.
