  • I don't think anyone disagrees with your general message. However, the people who "don't know any better" need the most help. Shouldn't you show them the same kindness and respect that you ask us to show our dogs, and communicate what they need to learn in a positive and not an aversive style? With all the conflicting information about dog training out there, is it really fair for you to wonder "why are the owners not behaving the way that *I* want them to behave on their own?"

  • We miss your formal training vids, Zak!

  • I found that all Bass Pro Shops allow dogs, they have everything! Other people and dogs, different floors, elevators, stuffed real animals its a really nice place to socialize your dog.

  • Great video! I remember when I had a dog he loved to be around lots of people. Kids would adore the dog. What if the dog is really friendly and never bites, but jumps on people a lot? Is there any advice you can give people if their dog jumped on people in the past and want to train a new dog not to jump up on people?

  • Thanks Zac! ...new frisbee pup coming and want to be sure I do this one right! My 3yr old is great but showered him with toys and free access. Got lucky he still has plenty of drive but want to be better all around owner for next pup.

  • I did so much research before getting my dog, so it annoys me too when people just get dogs on a whim because they "wanted one" or "liked the look of them". I found for socialising, taking the puppy with you to stand outside busy shops at the weekend, due to masses of people coming over and being like "awww a puppy!", was great for him and he loved it and now adores people and is a certified therapy dog :)

  • Zak, some folks getting a dog for the first time may not yet realize that they are people too. It's like having kids. You just don't know what you do wrong until you make the mistakes. They don't come with manuals. That's why it's good that you can help them along.

  • Great Vid :D !!

  • Great video!
