They never knew that just 2 years later thay would be playing Lithium at the MTV music awards!!! And that they would be filthy rich and that Kurt would be Murdered.

Because double bass pedals allow you to play a more varied set of beats that can make your playing sound even better if you know how to use. His kit does look a little odd with two toms and a double bass.
