No doubt it does effect the river systems - I live in a country where hydro is the only form of generation - now the occassional wind farm's springing up but they have their own problems. Hydro is without a doubt the best form of generation for power output to environmental impact - I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Wave generators look interesting but I seriously doubt they will have any decent power output.

I guess we should just save the beach and the water temp so a very few people can swim and party and destroy the planet with fossil fuel electric generation. Party on dudes!
