This is a way that you can make a locking biner out of two non-locking biners. Useful if you are the nervous type or don't have a locking biner. Remember we always use a locking carabiner when attaching ourselves or someone else to a anchor. In this demo Paul uses one locker and one non. Two non locking biners will work and are considered a locking biner except stronger! Common way to clip in for glacier travel.

  • But why get half ass answers?

  • read your own question it really does not deserve an answer

  • Wouldn't Identical non-lockers be better so one biner doesn't take the entire load and they share the load instead?

  • Ho wmany parachutes do you really need. In reality a single nonlocker would most likely catch yo and work 99.9% of the catches. Exact same opposing sure why not. If It is yor day to die it is going to happen anyhow.

  • you guys couldn't find another non-locker to use in the video???

  • Nope we have 300 lockers and only two nonlockers we lent the other out that day , sorry.

  • @mikebarter387 ideally as many as feasable what hes saying is corect

if you use to the same size then they both take equal strain instead of more being placed to one

  • There is really no justification for compromising on clarity when handing out safety information. Good climbers I'm sure, bad film makers. this isn't where you should be learning this stuff.

  • oh great, you should have waited! now people think they gotta oppose gates with a locker.

    lolz

  • Bahahahaha

  • yeah, and maybe you could draw a diagram with crayons, wahhhhh.
