The poem speaks in very noble terms about refusing to help death find innocent people (the act of killing) and yet makes no mention of standing idle while those same people suffer and die at the hands of others. Omission can be just as harmful as an action and several prime examples are given in this version of the poem such as the Balkans and Rwanda.
There's only one problem with absolute pacifism, and that is that the world isn't entirely populated by people who practice it and never will be.

Please tell us how you came to make this movie which will help end what are now Obama's endless wars waged for the the profit of his bosses, the war profiteers as our futures and safety are diminished till we end his (and his bosses insane wars)! Obama, you are betraying us & the troops. Reverse course NOW!

@tom500k thanks for comment a while back. Sorry for delay in replying. I came across hte poem whilst I was teaching and directing a group of 15/16yr olds in a play also written by Millay. That was in 1999. It stayed with me for lots of years until I suddenly had the vision and voices in my head. I am still amazed and slightly dismayed at how relevant it is at all times these days. Please go on sharing. Thanks again.
