ContainerHomes.Net is presenting it´s finished product.
These are two 20ft standard ISO shipping containers that were placed together.
The middle section was removed.
This is a very basic, very inexpensive quick build home.

  • great job. what are the building codes like in costa rica? could you do something like this anywhere there?

  • We can build these homes in Costa Rica

  • Won't the containers warp/wobble during transport, thereby creating stress on the joints of the windows causing them to break? I noticed in your other video that you would be taking out the sliding glass doors during transport, right?

  • The containers will move around a bit during the transportation. Our past units have had some broken tile or crack in the cement wallboard, but nothing to bad. Plus we drive out afterwards and patch things up. We remove all the glass prior to transport.

  • Our client wanted us to weld the two together once he had them in the proper place on his property. My team will actually go out in September to mend the two unit together and I will do a video on it.

  • drright71.. that is GREAT idea about spraying Both sides and scrapping it flat both sides..creates a decent thickness without loss of space.. awesome idea!

  • Does anyone else feel like you're sitting in the audience at a circus watching a sideshow geek pitch snake oil? I do....

  • its got a crack in the middle and very third world looking, not very artistic, but now i get the idea how to build mine

  • @GuruNightStalker How about spray foam? Spray both sides, outside and in, for insulation and shave it flat. Then add (vinyl?) siding to the outside and drywall or paneling to the inside.

  • its like a caravan with no wheels and the exterior of a scrap yard..great job

  • @Soldier957 I think you could use some spray on foam on the outside then spray a concrete type finish over that would work really good.

  • @Soldier957 Supertherm is what I us.

  • After seeing how cheaply these can be built, I'm thinking about converting some containers into a small home after I finish school, just to stay in a little while until I get on my feet. I was wondering...like, outside, there are those groove like patterns on the outside of the container, would it be possible to add something onto the outside to make the grooves flat so it looks more like a regular home?

  • Great! But what about insulation in cold climates?
