Henrika is a dutch lady who came to live in Bulgaria a year ago. She looked after and cared for nine dogs in her apartment in Velingrad. At the end of January 2011 she was illegally evicted and the dogs left without water or food for a week inside. Then the police and some municipal administrators raided the place and took away all of her companions. In the process some of the dogs were kicked and injured. She never saw them again. The dogs are still missing, presumably dead. Henrika is homeless and without hope. Incidents like this are common and widespread in Bulgaria. They demonstrate how animal abuse is intricately linked to human rights violations as well. This snatch and kill policy of the municipal authorities once again reminds us of the nazi death squads and their mentors.
Wake up Bulgaria!!!
