"Gaga for Broadway" the opening number from The 24th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition (April 2010) choreographed by Shea Sullivan and featuring a giant bonnet designed by Project Runway finalist Chris March, 50 Broadway singers and dancers and 106 year old former Ziegfeld Follies girl Doris Eaton Travis. The Easter Bonnet Competition is Broadway's annual spring event, a celebration of song, dance, sketches and highly architectural headgear produced by and benefiting Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS.

  • I was fortunate enough to know Doris for several years and hear many of her stories. Absolutely an amazing woman with a great heart. I'm happy she was able to live such of a very full life and again see the Broadway stage so close to the end of her 106 years. May the bluebird of happiness always shine on you too, Doris.

  • Doris died May 11, 2010 just days after doing a signing, imagine! Good for her my aunt lived to 99 and was fine, guess when it's your time they shut off the light switch and that's all folks!
