Opening from 1967's James Bond movie You Only Live Twice with the powerful rendition of the song by Little Anthony & The Imperials. Enjoy!
Little Anthony & The Imperials recorded this song for United Artists Records. It appeared on their 1967 album, Movie Grabbers on the label's Veep Records subsidiary that year, and was released as single from that album.

  • la vita continua !!

  • It's all about promotion. I doubt very seriously that The Imperials' version got anywhere NEAR the promotion as a version recorded by Frank Sinatra's daughter.

  • The Imperials' version was released as a single and did nothing, so it's hard to argue that it would have topped Sinatra's version. I think what hurt Nancy's 45 version was that it had a weaker arrangement than the version used in the film.

  • Nancy's version didn't even make the Top 40 on the U.S. charts (#44). I guarantee you that , had THE IMPERIALS' version been used on the film soundtrack, it would have gone Top 10 !!!

  • THE IMPERIALS' version sounds more like a BOND MOVIE THEME. FAR MORE POWERFUL than Nancy's version.

  • LITTLE ANTHONY & THE IMPERIALS' version blows NANCY SINATRA'S version right into the WEEDS !! Why HER VERSION was used for the movie instead of theirs BAFFLES ME . THE BOND MOVIE was a UNITED ARTISTS production, and THE IMPERIALS recorded for UNITED ARTISTS RECORDS...so what was the problem ?? Maybe her DADDY had something to do with it. "IT'S NOT WHAT YOU KNOW, but WHO YOU KNOW"!!

  • I've coveted the Little Anthony & The Imperials LP "Greatest Hits 2" since 1967, (still not on CD). To me this version has always trumps Nancy S's Original James Bond Sound Track... Great fun to see and hear this version sync'ed with the opening James Bond credits...

  • i almost thought this was shirley bassey:)

  • I like it!

  • honestly..why bother..this song is sacred to many of us.
