One Day after the blackouts of many sites, including Reddit, Wikipedia, and Imgur. Federal prosecutors in Virginia shut down one of the most used file sharing service, Megaupload. Megaupload's founder and a few other people who have been involved are now being brought to jail. Megaupload has apparently caused the entertainment industries more than $500 million in lost revenue. Just a few weeks ago Megaupload founder told Torrent Freak that his Mega ventures have nothing to worry about, as they operate within the rules of the law. Apparently, the Federal prosecutors didn't agree. This is a sad day for the internet, and it goes to show that the government will do anything to earn back the money they're losing. Even cripple your buisnesses for what your users post, even if you take it down once it's reported. We have lost hundreds of terabytes today, but we have also lost a part of the internet, and to that we say, You will be avenged, Megaupload!
