kambota empenada!!

It sounded like a bent pushrod or a dropped valve seat. But if it was a loose fastener that entered the engine, this is entirely unexpected. Loctite on that fastener is indicated.

CRANK.

is the sound of the valves hit the pistons, you have to rectify the engine, change timing belt and tensioner, do not circulate in this state with the big cars, because then you have to rectify any engine
-
sounds like tapids have gone
-
check timing belt for correct time, injectores, electrical connections, spark plugs and spark plug cables to solve the shaking problem,..... because of the knocking sound, check oil pump for lack of oil in the head, valves and the hydraulic lifters springs if one of them has a weak spring it doesn' t work tight enough and so it makes that sound..hope you can fixe it, that is a nice and very fast engine when working fine:D

fuck thats so gutting! grrrrrrrrrrrrrr sorry ojwmitchell
-
there is a reason for that. or was a reason. has the car been scrapped of fixed?
just get a new engine.
-
sounds like piston slap to me? oh just read your comment about the bolt, thats why i thought it was piston slap then lol
-
@ojwmitchell ........ shit man that sucks, same happened to me on a 205 xs, not quite as expensive though!
hydraulic tappett starved of oil? judging by the way its moving around id say it was only on 3 cylinders, i had my gti make this same noise, i flushed the engine with wynns engine flush, replaced oil and filter and it went away. it seems suspect if the head has just been rebuilt, take it back. Hope you get it sorted, looks really clean example :)

@doddsy799 Turns out this is the sound of a bolt rattling around in a cylinder. A bolt holding one of the throttle body butterflies in place came loose and got sucked in. It wrecked one piston and the head is a mess as well. Taking it off the road for a while now. May fix it or just break it for parts.
