  • Do you have saddle bag gards on your bike? I need to have them up on along with gettingthe bags put on. I have no idea of how to get those bags under that dern seat in the back. I am having ot pay the dealer $180.00 to put these things on. Is there any chance you could tell me how to do it.

  • yes i do have the saddle bag grads on my bike and me and my dad toke the seat off i think we toke the big seat off frist and there are a cuple of blots under that for the little back seat.than we drilled a hole in the middle of the finder and mounted the bags that way that put the seat back on top of that i hope this helps.

  • I got a 2003 rebel, and it goes pretty fast... I would not say that they are not fast at all...

  • i had mine around to 70-75 on hiway and still had more throttle to go its fast for little bike just dont keep up with the bigger bikes.

  • Hey, I'm thinking about getting a Rebel. How much do you pay in insurance for it? Thanks.

  • $75 dallors a year but thats not full covege.

  • I'm gonna buy one of those Rebels and Change Fenders so I can add Enduro Tires on the front and rear of it,paint it Camo. and quiet down that exaust some...yup.

  • @MonolithTyriss Actually, you don't want to leave gas tanks empty during the winter, air sweats on the inside of the tank and causes rust. If you have to park something for a long while its best to do it with a full tank, and generally, keep a full tank most of the time anyway. I don't do anything to winterize my bike for only a month or two, except take off the battery and put it on a solar float charger. More you may want to lower the pressure in your tires.

  • Honestly.. if your prepping for winter.. why not ride it around until it's almost out of gas, -then- park it? Use a bit of seafoam or something like that in the last part of the fuel tank to make sure the carbs are nice and cleaned out. Though.. through winter, even if you wont ride.. probably a good idea to put a small amount of fuel in the bike and just start and run it till dry.. like.. once or twice a month. That way spring time start up will be lots easier!

  • Man i miss my Rebel .. My first bike and my best bike .. easiest bike to work on .. easiest to drive ... fucking awesome bike man ... godi miss it .. its got some power to man dude says its not fast aha yeah

  • Naw if your choke works ant you knowwhat your doing its not to much of a pain.

  • I learned last year and the best thing I did was learn on a Shadow Spirit 750. The 250 will be too small for you in the first day. I'm a 5'10" guy, 170 lbs. The low seat height on the 750 makes it very easy to ride and learn on. It's not too small, or not too much bike and handles great. I'm still happy with mine. Plenty of power but not too crazy. I'm so glad I got talked out of starting on something that small. Lookin for a Rebel for my wife though. Let me know what you decide. Ride safe.

  • winter = very crappy time staring at bike

  • I'm doing the same thing. Everyone I've asked has told me honda rebels are great starter bikes.

  • A Rebel is the perfect starter bike.
